Revlon Ultra HD Matte Liquid Lipstick
Guess what ladies and gents! I’m baccckkkkkk!!!!! How have you all been? I’m sorry I've been MIA for a while, my personal priorities such as finishing my studies and looking for work have been the focus the last six months and now that my studies are over, and I found a new job, I’m ready to get back into some reviews! The first of many more to come is the REVLON ULTRA HD MATTE LIPCOLOR. A liquid lipstick I found on sale mmhhhmm girl for 50% off at my local Priceline! $23.95 AUD is the R.R.P
- Being light weight
- Having high definition/pigmentation
- Being a velvety matte finish
- Its moisturising
- It’s a wax free gel formula
- It comes in 16 shades
So what drew me to this was not only the sale sign, but also its packaging. It has a beautiful clear frosted tube where you can still see the shade inside. There were six shades available in store at the time, and I decided to purchase the colours in 625 LOVE and 635 PASSION.
What I first noticed when I twisted it open was that it had an extremely strong, sweet scent. Some of you may like it some may not. I also found that the intensity of it will differ between the different shades available. According to the features section on the Revlon website, it describes the fragrance as being a “Creamy mango and whipped vanilla fragrance”.
It has a triangular doffer applicator that tapers in at the end as show below.
As you can see from my swatches, it is pigmented but has a sheen overlay. I thought that after at least five minutes it would go away but it doesn’t. It will eventually soon feel like its dry on your lips, but still has the same finish when first applied though the intensity of the gloss will lessen slightly. So if you want a MATTE finish that looks dry on the lips this is not it, I would consider the end result as a Demi Matte finish.
There is feathering on the lips but it’s nothing a good lip liner can’t fix. The colours I’ve chosen are the darker shades in the collection, so personally I wouldn’t wear it without one anyways for an easier even application, and to stop any bleeding. When applying the product, it can get on your teeth so bare that in mind when applying the product in the thinner parts of your lip, the colour does transfer easily.
Overall I think it’s a nice liquid lipstick, majority of the claims are true and it does have a nice colour rage. It is one of most comfortable liquid lipsticks I have owned so far, it almost feels like there’s nothing on your lips. It doesn't dry out your lips, the colour stays on for a good length of time. It does a good job after eating and drinking, though you might find the colour will fade slightly which would be expected, it also leaves a stain as it wears off. I reapplied the product three times during the day from 8am to 6pm, not bad considering I eat and drink frequently throughout the day. There is 5.9ml of product in the tube which is nice, I love the packaging, but I personally wouldn’t pay full price. I think that the R.R.P of $23.95 AUD is a little too high but I definitely would grab it again on sale!
Well there you have it! I hope you like this review, please leave a comment below if you liked it, if you have any input on this product, and if there is any other drugstore lipsticks you would like Kimmy or I to review.
Thanks for stopping by!
