The Color Run is a 5km charity run held around the world! This year I participated for the first time with a friend of mine here in Adelaide, and it was so much fun!
I don’t want to give anything away, but it is an event that anyone and everyone can partake. Whether you’re young or old, a toddler or a great great grandfather, this is a great event for families and friends.
The few days leading up to the event you can pick up your gear or get it sent by post for extra which includes a t-shirt, stick on tattoos, race bib, and head band.
You can choose to run or walk this 5km journey that takes you from color to glitter, and to foam. Once you reach the end you get to sing, dance and celebrate with others who participated in the charity event!
I highly recommend anyone to attend, but please be wary if you do have asthma. It may or may not affect you depending on the individual as it does get thrown in the air. Many find it helps to get a mouth cover to prevent breathing in the powder and wear sunglasses or goggles to cover their eyes, especially for young children.
The powder used is food grade corn-starch and natural food dye which won’t stain your clothes, but best to leave your high quality clothing and footwear at home.
This year over 10,500 people attended raising funds for many charities. Most of the people involved are volunteers who gave their personal time and effort to help raise as much as possible for those in need.
Come join next year in 2016!
